June 09' Update

My husband and I have just returned from a vacation in California where we visited our oldest daughter and husband. We had fun taking hundreds of digital pictures in Carmel, Monterey, and Yosemite National Park. I came home very inspired to start some coastal landscapes, waterfalls, resort scenes, and even a golf painting or two of Beautiful Pebble Beach.

This week I received some exciting news that one of my new pieces, Auburn Braid, has been accepted into the Northwest Pastel Society's 2009 23rd International Open Juried Exhibit which will be hosted at:

July 16
– August 15, 2009

Tacoma's American Art Company
1126 Broadway Plaza
Tacoma, WA

Meanwhile, I've started work on my entry for the upcoming Equine Art 2009 Show:

July 9 – July 12, 2009

Emerald Downs
2300 Emerald Downs Drive
Auburn, WA

This prestigious show will be held July where I'll enter a large pastel painting, The Horse Whisperers.

A new commissioned oil piece is in progress which features an old mill scene set in a New England autumn.

The new Procter Gallery in north Tacoma where my original oils and pastels can be seen is going very well. I'm working there 2-3 days a month and have prints and cards available as well.

May 09' Update

I am very pleased to have my work represented at the new Proctor Gallery in Tacoma where we had 800 visitors the first month of business! March 21st was the grand opening and we were so delighted at the huge turnout and community support. Carolyn Burt, the owner, is doing a terrific job managing the new venture and I’m anticipating a long and gratifying association with Proctor Gallery.

At the present I am busy preparing for a couple of miniature shows coming up:

April 26 – May 17, 2009

Annual Miniatures Show:

El Dorado Fine Arts Gallery

Colorado Springs, CO

May 3 – 31, 2009

Annual Miniatures Show:

Parklane Gallery

Kirkland, WA

July 16 – August 15, 2009

Northwest Pastel Society’s International Open Juried Exhibit at:

American Art Company

Tacoma, WA

So….there is much to be excited about - not to mention my new website! I’ll be sharing more coming events in my May blog. Thanks for taking the time to share in this artist’s world.
